Share capital
Share products, purchases, bulk purchases and approvals for SACCOs and cooperatives.
Share capital is each member’s ownership stake. Unlike deposits it usually cannot be withdrawn — only transferred — and it earns dividends.
- Share products define the share price and rules. Share charges add fees.
- Share accounts hold a member’s shares. Record purchases on the account.
- Bulk purchases post many members’ share purchases at once (e.g. from payroll), and bulk transaction approvals let a second person approve them.
- Share reports show holdings by member and totals for the AGM.
Tip
Share capital rules (minimum shares, transfer rules) are usually in your by-laws. Configure the product to match them.
