Organisation settings
Name, base currency, financial year, time zone, date format and accounting method for the whole institution.
Organisation settings apply to every branch and user. Set them before you create products or post any transaction — the currency and financial year in particular are used by every loan, savings account and report.
Fields
| Field | Required | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Business name | required | Shown on receipts, statements, reports and the sign-in screen. |
| Start date | required | The date the institution starts operating on Zung. Transactions before this date are not allowed. |
| Currency | required | The base currency the books are kept in (KES, UGX, TZS, NGN…). Products use it by default. |
| Time zone | required | Decides what “today” means for due dates, end-of-day jobs and transaction timestamps. |
| Financial year start month | required | The first month of your financial year. Used by the profit and loss, balance sheet and year-end dividends. |
| Date format / time format | required | How dates and times appear on screens and documents. |
| Accounting method | optional | The default inventory accounting method inherited from the platform; most MFIs leave the default. |
Important
Changing the base currency after transactions exist does not convert past amounts. Decide on the currency before go-live.
Branding
Upload your logo so it appears on statements, receipts and the member portal. Institutions on Enterprise can also serve Zung from their own domain with an automatic SSL certificate.
