AML monitoring scans recent transactions and flags patterns that can indicate money laundering. Each flagged transaction shows the rule that triggered it.

RuleFlagsApplies to
Large transactionA single transaction more than 10 times the account’s averageSavings, wallets
Round-number transactionExact multiples of 10,000 — a structuring signalSavings, loan repayments
Dormant account reactivatedNo activity for 90+ days, then activity in the last 7 daysSavings
Rapid succession3 or more transactions on the same account within 24 hoursSavings
  1. Open AML monitoring daily or weekly.
  2. Review each flag against the member’s profile and history.
  3. Clear flags with a legitimate explanation; escalate the rest under your AML policy and file a suspicious transaction report with your financial intelligence unit where required.
Important
A flag is a prompt to look, not proof of wrongdoing. Never tell a member they are the subject of a suspicious transaction report.
