KYC documents

Know-your-customer (KYC) checks confirm a member is who they say they are. Upload identity documents on the member’s profile; each document then goes through review.

KYC status

Pending→Rejected
  1. Open the member and go to the KYC tab.
  2. Upload the document and enter its number and expiry date where shown.
  3. A reviewer opens the document, compares it with the member’s details and sets the status to Approved or Rejected.
  4. If rejected, upload a clearer or different document — the rejected one stays on record.
Tip
The person who captures a KYC document should not be the one who approves it.

Next of kin

Record at least one next of kin with their relationship and phone number. Needed for insurance claims, deceased-member processing and SACCO nominee rules.

Employment (work details)

Employer, position, income and work status. Loan officers use these in appraisal; salary-based SACCOs use them for check-off.

Bank details

The member’s external bank account, used for disbursements and refunds by bank transfer.

Documents

Attach any other supporting file — application forms, business licences, photos of the business, signed loan agreements.

Important
Member records contain personal data protected by law. Only capture what you need, and never send ID scans by email or chat.
