Rescheduling and variable schedules
Restructure a loan’s terms, add instalments or grace, or edit individual instalments.
Rescheduling changes the remaining terms of an active loan — usually because the member can no longer pay as agreed.
| Field | Required | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Rescheduled on date | required | Date the restructure is agreed. |
| Reschedule from date | required | The instalment date from which the new terms apply. |
| New first payment date | optional | Move the next due date. |
| Extra instalments | optional | Add instalments to extend the term and lower each payment. |
| Grace on principal / interest | optional | Give a break on principal or interest for some instalments. |
| New interest rate | optional | Change the rate from the reschedule date. |
Important
Track restructured loans separately: a rescheduled loan can look current while still being high-risk. Use the Rescheduled loans report, and check your regulator’s rules on classifying restructured loans.
Variable schedules
For irregular cash flows (seasonal farmers), use Edit variable schedule to change individual instalment dates and amounts instead of the whole loan.
