Loan formulas

WhoCredit managers, administrators

Formulas are rules written as expressions over the loan and member — for example applied amount greater than three times savings balance. Each formula belongs to a product, has a priority (lower runs first) and is one of three types:

TypeActionsWhat happens
EligibilityApprove · Flag · RejectWhen the expression is true the application is approved, flagged for review, or rejected — with the message you write shown to staff.
Fee adjustmentReplace · Add · MultiplyChanges a fee by the value you enter — e.g. multiply the processing fee by 0.5 for repeat borrowers.
Disbursement limitBlockStops disbursement while the expression is true, with your message.
  1. Open Loans›Manage formulas and click Add.
  2. Name the formula, choose the product and type.
  3. Write the expression.
  4. Choose the action, and enter the message (eligibility, limit) or value (fee adjustment).
  5. Pick an existing loan and click Test to see the result before you save.
  6. Set the priority, tick Active and save.
Important
Always test a new formula on a few real loans. A rejecting formula with a mistake can block every application for the product.
